On Materials

The images are created using film cameras from the 1950s through to the 1980s, ranging from large format to medium format and 35mm. I shoot and develop all the film myself before transferring the photographs onto glass and various found or selected objects.

Each piece is a one-off work. The process of transferring the image onto a surface means that no two works are ever identical. Imperfections, marks, and variations are part of the final result and form part of the object itself.

This approach moves the photograph beyond paper, turning it into a physical piece of art rather than simply an image.
